Doechii releases a new music video for her new single, “Anxiety.”
via People:
The “NISSAN ALTIMA” rapper released the song “Anxiety” on Tuesday, March 4. Doechii, 26, originally recorded the song in 2019 in her bedroom for her self-released mixtape Coven Music Sessions.
It was never released until now, and the Grammy winner elaborated on the track’s “lore” on her Instagram Stories on March 4.
“So, I’m dropping a song called ‘Anxiety,’ ” she began, explaining the many layers involved. “Now, you may be thinking, ‘Anxiety’ already came out. So, Sleepy Hallow — amazing artist, by the way — he dropped a song called ‘Anxiety’ where he was sampling my song called ‘Anxiety.’ “
Doechii explained that the song she released in 2019 had sampled the 2011 song “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye featuring Kimbra.
“But my song is using the sample of ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ and then I took that beat from ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ and I made my own song on top of it called ‘Anxiety.’ So then I dropped that song on YouTube and never hear it streaming.”
