Jon Stewart will continue his role as Monday host and executive producer of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show through December 2028. The extension keeps the longtime comedian and political commentator at the center of the award-winning late-night series.
According to Paramount Press Express, Skydance Television announced on October 19th that Stewart will continue hosting the program every Monday through December 2028. The show’s news team will maintain its rotating hosting schedule Tuesday through Thursday. Stewart will also remain an executive producer alongside showrunner Jen Flanz and his longtime manager James “Baby Doll” Dixon.

The news team includes Ronny Chieng, Josh Johnson, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, and Desi Lydic, along with Troy Iwata and Grace Kuhlenschmidt. The series airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, with episodes streaming the following day on Paramount+. Stewart’s continued involvement follows the show’s recent success in television and digital media.
The announcement comes after The Daily Show earned two Emmy Awards in 2026. The series also achieved its highest third-quarter viewership among total viewers in eight years. Its social media platforms generated 1.9 billion views, making it the most-viewed cable program across social media in 2026, according to the network.
