Production has started on the new Fox reboot series, which stars Stephen AmellShay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, Noah BeckBrooks Nader and Livvy Dunne.

For Dunne, 23, who is best known for her gymnastics career at Louisiana State University, Baywatch marks her acting debut, and it’s only the second scripted role ever for Nader, 29.

The series will follow Amell’s Hobie Buchannon, son of Mitch Buchannon from the original series, who was played by Jeremy Jackson. Hobie has followed in his father’s footsteps as a Baywatch Captain, but his world is “turned upside down” when “the daughter he never knew shows up on his doorstep, eager to carry on the Buchannon family legacy and become a Baywatch lifeguard alongside her dad.” Belkin will play Charlie, Hobie’s daughter.

Beck, Mitchell and Dunne will all play lifeguards under Hobie’s command, as will Thaddeus LaGrone, while Nader will play Selene, a rival Captain.

The reboot will also see the return of OG star David Chokachi, who is reprising his role as Cody Madison. Cody is now running The Shoreline bar-and-grill, but he “still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives” and acts as a “mentor” and “friend” of the new generation of lifeguards.
