HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 17, 2026 – It was announced today that Ryan Gosling will be the 40th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award at a tribute to be held on Monday, November 2, 2026 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The American Cinematheque Awards gala is an annual fundraiser for the non-profit organization that continues its year-round programming at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, Los Feliz 3 Theatre in Los Feliz, and Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
American Cinematheque Board Chair Rick Nicita announced the selection by stating, “It is with tremendous pride that the American Cinematheque recognizes Ryan Gosling as the recipient of our 40th Annual American Cinematheque Award. Ryan represents everything this honor stands for — an artist of extraordinary range, depth and fearless creative commitment. From his early work in The Believer and Half Nelson, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination, to his breathtaking performances in Drive, Blue Valentine, La La Land, and his revelatory, scene-stealing turn in Barbie, Ryan has demonstrated a remarkable ability to inhabit characters with intelligence, vulnerability, and undeniable charisma.
