Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer Durand Bernarr will receive the Soul Personified Honor at the 2026 Soul Train Awards, airing November 27th at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET and CBS. The R&B vocalist will also perform during the ceremony and host the show’s digital red carpet experience.
Durand Bernarr has been selected for the Soul Personified Honor, recognizing his creativity, vocal abilities and contributions to contemporary R&B. The recognition follows his 2026 Grammy victory for Best Progressive R&B Album for BLOOM. Bernarr also recently released his fourth studio album, BERNARR., featuring collaborations with Big Sean, BJ The Chicago Kid, Khalid, Sevyn Streeter and Vic Mensa.
In addition to receiving the award and performing, Bernarr will host the 2026 Soul Train Awards Red Carpet Show: Back on Track. The digital special will offer a fresh approach to traditional red carpet coverage, highlighting artists, fashion and entertainment. The celebration will also feature a fan-selected recognition of the greatest R&B song of the 2020s.
The honor marks another milestone in Bernarr’s two-decade journey as an independent recording artist. His career has included a popular NPR Tiny Desk performance, sold-out concerts and appearances on Kehlani’s world tour. The Soul Train Awards will return to television on November 27th, with Anthony Anderson hosting the main ceremony and Chaka Khan receiving the Classic Soul Honor.
