Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its extraordinary box-office run, officially crossing the $2 billion mark worldwide. The Marvel and Sony blockbuster starring Tom Holland and Zendaya has become only the eighth film in history to reach the milestone and the second-fastest to do so, trailing only Avengers: Endgame. The achievement adds another major accomplishment to a theatrical run that has already seen the film dominate the North American box office.

The Sony Pictures release added an estimated $70 million from theaters in the United States and Canada over the weekend, bringing its domestic total to $785.8 million. Another $118.7 million came from international markets during the frame.

That pushed Brand New Day to approximately $2.02 billion worldwide. It is only the eighth movie to reach $2 billion without adjusting for inflation and did so in roughly 18 days, making it the second-fastest film ever to the milestone behind 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which needed 11 days.
