Julia Louis-Dreyfus is looking back at the complicated creative dynamic behind Seinfeld, revealing that despite the cast’s famous chemistry, there was plenty of friction behind the scenes as they worked to make the iconic sitcom.

During a recent visit to the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Emmy-winning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus was asked if she ever experienced any “friction” on set while starring as Elaine Benes on the beloved comedy series, Seinfeld.
“Of course, yes, tons,” Louis-Dreyfus replied. “I mean, it’s hard to do anything really well and it takes a lot of work and you’re gonna butt heads.”
Created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, Seinfeld followed a group of friends as they lived, worked, and found themselves in bonkers situations in New York City. In addition to Seinfeld and Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry and Elaine, the series rounded out its core four cast with Jason Alexander and Michael Richards respectively playing George and Kramer.
