Netflix brought A Different World to Morehouse College for a star-studded celebration connecting the beloved series’ legacy with its next generation. Held September 21st at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel, the event kicked off the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival with performances, a screening of the first two episodes and appearances from original stars Jasmine Guy, Darryl M. Bell and Cree Summer alongside the new cast.
The celebration brought together A Different World veterans, its new generation of stars and the creative team behind the series for a night honoring the show’s enduring connection to HBCU culture. Following the screening, cast members, filmmakers and guests — including Summer Walker, Tichina Arnold, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and DeVon Franklin — continued the festivities with a reception at White Oak, marking a fitting start to the series’ next chapter.
