The Stargate franchise is moving toward another television revival as Jac Schaeffer, the creative force behind Marvel’s WandaVision and Agatha All Along, develops a new series for Amazon MGM Studios. The project brings a prominent Marvel television storyteller to the long-running science-fiction property, opening the door for a fresh interpretation of the franchise’s interplanetary adventures.
According to Deadline, Schaeffer is developing a new Stargate television series under her overall agreement with Amazon MGM Studios. The project represents a new approach to reviving the franchise following an earlier development effort associated with writer and producer Martin Gero. Specific storylines, casting details, and a potential premiere date have not been announced.

The Stargate franchise began with the 1994 science-fiction film and expanded into several television productions, including Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe. Its mythology centers on an ancient network of portals allowing travel between distant worlds. Schaeffer’s experience developing character-driven stories within established fictional universes makes her involvement particularly notable, although the creative direction of the new series remains undisclosed.
With Schaeffer involved, Amazon MGM Studios has an opportunity to introduce Stargate to a new generation while building on the expansive mythology that has sustained the franchise for decades.
