Bruno Mars continues to rewrite his own chart history with “I Just Might.” The hit single has logged its 35th week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart, breaking its tie with “Die With a Smile” and officially becoming Mars’ longest-running leader on the ranking.

“I Just Might” is steady at No. 1 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. The tally ranks the most popular tracks in that one style in the United States. Like all rosters published by Billboard that begin with the word “Hot,” it blends radio airplay, streams and sales to map out general consumption and popularity, as opposed to focusing specifically on either the bestselling, most-streamed or most-heard cuts in one style.
Last time around, “I Just Might” was matched with “Mutt,” the breakout hit from singer-songwriter Leon Thomas, which has helped turn him into a star in his own right. The two jointly claimed the honor of scoring the second-longest-ruling hit on the Hot R&B Songs chart.
Nine months after kicking off Mars’ The Romantic era, “I Just Might” continues to demonstrate impressive staying power. Its extended run gives Mars another career benchmark while adding to an already extensive list of chart achievements.
