Hip-hop superstar Drake is celebrating another major Billboard achievement as his collaboration with Don Toliver, “Solar Eclipse,” debuts at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The chart milestone marks Drake’s 91st career top 10 hit on the prestigious singles chart. The song, which incorporates elements of country singer Ella Langley‘s record-breaking hit “Choosin’ Texas,” arrives amid renewed commercial success for Drake’s expanded album, HABIBTI (FOMO).
“Solar Eclipse” was officially released on October 2nd, 2026, as part of the deluxe expansion of Drake’s HABIBTI album. The collaboration reimagines elements of Langley’s country hit through a contemporary hip-hop and R&B production, bringing together the musical styles associated with both performers. Langley’s original recording previously spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, establishing a new record for the chart’s longest-running No. 1 song. The country single remains a major commercial success, holding the No. 2 position on the latest chart as Drake and Toliver’s interpretation enters the top five.
The success of “Solar Eclipse” accompanies a significant resurgence for Drake’s HABIBTI album, which climbed 114 positions from No. 116 to No. 2 on the Billboard 200. According to chart data reported by Billboard and Luminate, the expanded project earned approximately 71,000 equivalent album units during the tracking week ending October 8th, representing an increase of more than 500 percent compared with the previous week. The deluxe edition includes four additional tracks: “Solar Eclipse,” “Quebec,” “Classic PT2,” and “Cold Shoulder,” the latter featuring Toliver and singer Yebba. Streaming accounted for nearly 70,000 of the album’s weekly equivalent units, demonstrating the considerable audience interest generated by the new material.
