The world of Bridgerton is expanding with another romantic origin story. Netflix and Shondaland have officially ordered a limited series exploring the early life of Lady Violet Bridgerton and her relationship with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton.
According to Variety, Shonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini will serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Tom Verica will direct and executive produce, with Betsy Beers also producing. The untitled series will explore Violet’s younger years and the romance that eventually established the Bridgerton family. Ruth Gemmell portrays Violet in the original series, while Connie Jenkins-Greig played a younger version in Queen Charlotte. Casting for the new project has not been confirmed.
