via Variety:
“Production on ‘The Batman Part II’ has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,” a rep said in a statement. “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”
Robert Pattinson returns as the Caped Crusader in the highly anticipated superhero sequel, which has already experienced several delays. “The Batman Part II” was originally set to open on Oct. 2, 2026, before Warner Bros. delayed it to Oct. 1, 2027. Then, in July, the studio pushed the film to February 2028. Reeves’ first “Batman” was released in March 2022.
Along with Pattinson, other cast members include Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Sebastian Stan, Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright.
DC Studios has emphasized its support for Reeves and characterized the interruption as temporary, keeping anticipation high for Robert Pattinson’s eventual return as the Caped Crusader.
