Hip-hop mogul Sean Combs, professionally known as Diddy, was reportedly transported to a hospital after suffering a head injury while incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey. According to a report published by PEOPLE on Monday, October 12th, 2026, the 56-year-old Bad Boy Records founder was taken from the federal correctional facility by ambulance during the early morning hours of Saturday, October 10th. The reported medical emergency comes as Combs continues serving a federal prison sentence following his 2025 conviction.

According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, Combs was transported from the correctional facility after sustaining a head injury that was described as non-life-threatening. A source familiar with the situation confirmed to PEOPLE that the music executive had been taken to a hospital. Combs reportedly remained conscious during his transportation and returned to the prison later that same day. The circumstances surrounding the injury have not been publicly established, and no additional medical diagnosis has been disclosed.

Combs’ spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, acknowledged the reports and indicated that representatives were working to confirm the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern,” Engelmayer stated.

The hospitalization follows recent reports concerning Combs’ incarceration at FCI Fort Dix, including allegations involving prohibited items and preferential treatment. Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. His projected release date is currently listed as March 2nd, 2028, following an adjustment from an earlier January 2028 date. The reason for that change has not been officially established.

Although Combs reportedly returned to prison following treatment, questions remain about how the injury occurred. Additional information from his representatives or federal correctional officials could provide greater clarity regarding the circumstances of the hospitalization.
