Emmy-winning actor Jeff Daniels has joined the upcoming spy drama Bannerman, a collaboration between AMC Studios and Netflix. The series is based on John R. Maxim’s bestselling novels and follows a group of former assassins attempting to escape their dangerous pasts.
According to The Playlist, Daniels will portray Raymond Lesko, a former NYPD detective who now works in hotel security. Lesko was dismissed from the police force after seeking revenge for the murder of his former partner. His life becomes complicated when he discovers that his daughter is dating a man with a potentially dangerous past.
The series centers on Paul Bannerman, a former covert operative who convinces deadly assassins to retire in suburban Connecticut. Shane Black will direct the first two episodes and co-write the premiere with showrunner Craig Silverstein. Bannerman will premiere on AMC in the United States and Canada before becoming available on Netflix in those countries 90 days after the season finale.
