Three-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Jill Scott reunites with legendary Chicago House producer Terry Hunter for the “Right Here Right Now Remix,” an exhilarating reimagining of the standout track from Scott’s acclaimed 2026 album, To Whom This May Concern.
Already built to move, “Right Here Right Now” pulses with freedom, joy and undeniable soul. Hunter turns that energy all the way up, taking the record straight to the dance floor and deep into the unmistakable rhythm and spirit of Chicago House. Expansive yet intimate, euphoric yet soulful, the remix is a celebration of movement, connection and community, honoring the warmth of Scott’s original while giving it a bold new pulse.
The result is expansive, joyful and unapologetically grown; a record designed to take up space. Equal parts celebration and release, the remix is a love letter to the DJs, dancers and dance floors that have long embraced Scott’s music and transformed it into communal experiences around the world.
The original track was produced by O’Mas Keith, with additional direction by The Ring, and written by Jill Scott, O’Mas Keith, Yountie Strickland, Carvin Haggins, Malek Ben-Yisrael, and Lamar Andrews.
The release also marks a reunion between two artists with a creative history spanning more than a decade. Hunter previously collaborated with Scott on The Remixes, the official remix project that transformed songs from her 2015 album WOMAN into soulful house records. Released in 2016, the project underscored the natural connection between Scott’s unmistakable vocals and Hunter’s Chicago house sensibilities.
A cornerstone of Chicago house music, Hunter has spent decades bridging house, R&B and soul. His extensive body of work includes remixes and collaborations with artists including Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Raheem DeVaughn and Syleena Johnson, among many others.
For Scott, the collaboration is also a continuation of her longstanding relationship with dance and house music culture. Over the years, her music has been embraced and reinterpreted by DJs and producers across generations, finding a home on dance floors and within house communities from Chicago and New York to Atlanta and London. Her rich vocals, spoken-word roots and unmistakable sense of rhythm have made her catalog a natural canvas for house music’s tradition of reinvention.
The “Right Here Right Now Remix” arrives during a landmark year for Scott.
Earlier this year, she released To Whom This May Concern, her first studio album in more than a decade. Featuring collaborations with Tierra Whack, Trombone Shorty, JID, Too $hort and Ab-Soul, the album debuted in the Top 10 across seven Billboard charts, including No. 6 on Independent Albums and No. 7 on Top Album Sales.
The new remix also follows Scott’s recent recognition by Billboard as an R&B Hall of Fame honoree, celebrating her enduring influence on R&B, soul and contemporary music.
