Kehlani was forced to put two stops on the world tour on hold following a painful health scare. The Grammy-winning singer revealed that severe throat pain left them unable to swallow and ultimately resulted in a hospital visit, prompting the postponement of concerts in New Jersey and Washington, D.C.

The musician, 31, shared the update in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Aug. 26.
“After two off days feeling completely normal, I’ve been up all night unable to swallow & in so much pain,” the “Folded” singer wrote. “I just left the hospital & am not cleared to sing for the next two shows. I’m so sorry.”
“Camden & DC. My team is working on a solution,” she continued. “Breaks my heart to have to ever do this. I do everything I’m supposed to to ensure my health stays up to par & it still isn’t guaranteed. We will pick back up in Virginia.”
The “After Hours” singer is currently on the North American leg of her self-titled world tour. She is set to continue at the Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront in Richmond, Va. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The two-time Grammy winner did not disclose further details about her illness.
Although stepping away from the stage was a difficult decision, Kehlani made recovery the priority and subsequently rescheduled the affected performances. The singer’s world tour is expected to continue as their health allows.
