Tommy Davidson (In Living Color, Proud Family) and Tichina Arnold (Martin, Everybody Hates Chris) have been announced as the leads of the new family comedy feature Search Party: Where’s Paw Paw, which recently wrapped production in Los Angeles.
The film was directed by Victoria Monai Richards in her debut. Richards also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Sherrie Richards and will star, rounding out the main cast with Daisy Fernandez and Nijah Brenea.
The project comes from Faith Plus Works Productions, a newly launched family-owned production start-up that spotlights joyful family-centered stories told with faith and originality, alongside The Harold Brothers. A theater release is expected in the fall.
Search Party: Where’s Paw Paw? is an early 2000s-inspired, PG-rated comedy following three best friends on one wildly unforgettable search party that is full of heart, chaos and family love. College student Noble Williams (Richards) rushes home after receiving an alarming call: her PawPaw’s (Davidson) health has taken a sudden turn for the worse. Joined by her two best friends and chaotic Auntie (Arnold), they find that PawPaw is now missing from the nursing home. With only a few strange clues and even stranger characters to guide them, they must track down PawPaw before time runs out.
