Grammy Award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion will host the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, which takes place September 11th in New York!

Megan follows in the footsteps of last year’s master of ceremonies, Nicki Minaj. This marks the Houston rapper’s first-time helming the event, which will broadcast live starting at 8 p.m. Eastern.
Megan Thee Stallion issued her most recent LP, Megan, earlier this summer, and returned this month with the video for her Yuki Chiba collaboration “Mamushi.”
In 2019, Megan won her first VMA Moonperson, for Best Power Anthem, for her Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign collaboration “Hot Girl Summer.” This year, she is up for five awards; four of them are for her Megan song “Boa,” which got nods for Best Hip-Hop, Best Direction, Best Visual Effects, and Best Art Direction. Megan will also compete for Best Collaboration, alongside Glorilla, for their joint track “Wanna Be.”
Earlier this month, the 2024 VMAs announced its full list of nominees. Performers at the ceremony include Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Glorilla, Rauw Alejandro, Sabrina Carpenter, and Katy Perry, who will also receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award.
