Swedish pop star Zara Larsson is receiving recognition for using her international platform to support LGBTQ+ youth. The Trevor Project has named the singer its 2026 Mental Health Champion of the Year ahead of World Mental Health Day.

According to PEOPLE, the honor recognizes Larsson’s advocacy for LGBTQ+ communities and her willingness to discuss mental health challenges publicly. Throughout her career, the singer has supported Pride celebrations, transgender rights, and initiatives promoting emotional well-being. Larsson follows previous honorees including Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, and Lil Nas X. She is currently touring in support of her Midnight Sun era.

Larsson’s recognition highlights the influence entertainers can have beyond music, particularly when using their platforms to encourage acceptance, visibility, and mental health awareness among young audiences.
