Jacob Tremblay takes on the role of a young Ted Kaczynski in Netflix’s upcoming drama UNABOMBER, which explores his transformation from gifted Harvard student to the domestic terrorist behind a decades-long mail bombing campaign. Directed by Janus Metz, the film moves between Kaczynski’s early years—including his involvement in controversial psychological experiments conducted by Harvard professor Henry Murray, played by Russell Crowe—and the later FBI investigation led by agent Joanne Miller, portrayed by Shailene Woodley. UNABOMBER premieres September 25 on Netflix.

Janus Metz’s upcoming filmtells the story of the man who orchestrated a decades-long mail bombing campaign that killed 3 people and injured 23 more. Jacob Tremblay stars as the young Ted Kaczynski, with Russell Crowe playing a controversial Harvard professor.

“UNABOMBER is a story about a young man who feels increasingly disenfranchised by society and decides to take up violence as a means of revenge,” director Metz tells Tudum. “We crosscut between two timelines, roughly speaking: the making of the Unabomber and the capture of the Unabomber.”
