Actor and producer Marcus T. Paulk, widely recognized for portraying Myles Mitchell on the beloved UPN sitcom Moesha, is expanding his entertainment career with a new leadership position in the music industry. Paulk has been appointed A&R Executive at 3rd Eye Recordings LLC, an independent record label, publishing company, and recording studio described in the announcement as operating under the Universal Music Group (UMG) umbrella. The appointment brings together Paulk’s more than three decades of experience in entertainment with the label’s commitment to artist development, creative innovation, and discovering emerging musical talent.
In his new role, Paulk will oversee artist development, identify promising new performers, and help guide the musical and visual direction of 3rd Eye Recordings. His appointment reflects a career shaped by both television and music, beginning with his early exposure to the recording industry through his father and uncle, who won Star Search, and continuing through his involvement in cultural events associated with Quincy Jones’ Vibe. Drawing on his experience as an actor, producer, and entertainment professional, Paulk plans to help cultivate artists with distinctive creative identities and long-term career potential.
“Music has always been the baseline of my life and career,” Paulk said. “We aren’t chasing temporary internet trends here; we are engineering, amplifying, and elevating timeless artists who possess real identity, longevity, and cultural authority.”
His comments underscore an approach to artist development that emphasizes authenticity and sustained creative growth rather than short-lived popularity.

3rd Eye Recordings was co-founded by CEO Rodney “K-R.O.K.” Gilcreast, a Grammy-nominated, RIAA Diamond-certified producer and original member of the influential 1990s alternative hip-hop and R&B group P.M. Dawn, and President Kenneth Sarino, a corporate strategist focused on building sustainable business opportunities for independent creators. With Paulk joining the executive team, the company aims to combine music production, business strategy, and visual storytelling to strengthen its artist roster and expand its reach.
“Marcus represents a rare class of talent who successfully transitioned from a beloved child star into a respected, purpose-driven industry authority,” K-R.O.K. said. “His cross-generational reach, sharp creative eye, and deep authenticity make him the perfect leader to spearhead our A&R division as we expand our global footprint with UMG.”
Beyond his new music industry responsibilities, Paulk is also preparing for his upcoming role in the socially driven dramatic feature film Critical Impact, continuing his work in front of the camera while developing opportunities behind the scenes.
Marcus T. Paulk’s appointment at 3rd Eye Recordings marks another chapter in his entertainment career, positioning the former Moesha star to help discover and develop emerging artists while continuing his work in television and film.
