Reese Witherspoon is making a significant move in the entertainment business, partnering with French production company Mediawan to reacquire her media company, Hello Sunshine. The deal comes five years after Candle Media acquired a controlling stake in the female-focused production company.

According to Axios, Witherspoon and Mediawan have teamed up to buy back Hello Sunshine for a reported low- to mid-eight-figure amount. The transaction follows Candle Media’s 2021 acquisition, when the company was valued at approximately $900 million.
The new ownership arrangement will allow Hello Sunshine to refocus on premium film and television projects while expanding its storytelling and distribution opportunities.
The company will also continue developing Reese’s Book Club, which has grown into a major literary platform with millions of readers.
